This is exciting! My first entry... there is so much to share and knowing where to begin is the challenge. First of all, I want to thank you for reading... it's my intention to provide you a forum of high-integrity information that links two of humans' most ancient "loves"; Yoga and Horses.  Wether we practice yoga or ride horses, we all have an idea of what these two things are... and as my years of yoga practice and horseback riding continue to add up I won't hesitate to say that, to me, they are the same. The more I realize this and the more I incorporate this understanding into my time with the horses, the more the horses seem to be saying "what took you so long!?"... good thing they're such patient animals. I've been blessed to have had yoga and horses in my life for a combined total of 35 years... (thanks to my mom - who was the greatest horse show mom ever!... you should write a book about that role mom, because I'm sure parents and kids and coaches everywhere would benefit immensely!)... so, yes... after 35 years of practicing on the mat and in the saddle, the fog is starting to lift as I finally begin to Understand that struggling is never the way... allowing is!  This actualization is not something I was taught by one person or one book. Nor did it occur at one particular moment in time after following an exact recipe of a particular thought, feeling or action. However, at this stage, it's also something that eludes me from time to time... but luckily I have the horses in my back yard, always willing to instill a sense of connectedness and presence in my life.
I would love for you to check back often to this forum, allowing me to share with you the application of these yogic principles to my interactions with my horses.
